Mid August Progress

I'm in Atlanta, just arriving after a 6 hr road trip from Charleston SC with a 22 month old. Challenging for sure. But at home, Curtis, James, Janice, Casey, Deborah, Edwin, Mark, Henning, Job, Bryan, Russ, and Matt are kicking it in a wide range of business building activities. Ranch III, above and below, is taking great shape, and by the end of next week will more or less be finished, and Greg and Kat will be our newest homeowners on Lake Ridge Road, Narrowsburg, NY - our 5th.

Getting a headstart on the winter sales, we signed up Van and Eric on a version of Cottage 31, and Gianni and Kelly on a new iteration on Cottage 29. And we have Ranch III and Barn III coming in for soft landings here in the next 4 weeks, and probably Ase and her husband will sign up with us as well over the next month.

The barn house with the cedar shake has made a lot of progress here as of late - by the time I come home we will be painting the inside.

And Cottage 29 had the floors finished this week, and will be wrapping up shortly. This is Cottage that is owner-less currently, a rarity for us. But it's a nice to be able to build and design a home - we do a lot of collaboration with homeowners, and it's nice to go solo every once and awhile.

Tonights the big launch of the DIY show. I'm in a hotel that doesn't have the DIY network, so I will have to wait for someone to write and tell me about it. It's all good, that's for sure.
Catskill Farms Goes National
Our show on the DIY network (sister channel of HGTV, Food Network, etc...) begins airing this Thursday at 10pm. We facilitated 6 productions for DIY's stable of home improvement shows this past spring and the first one launches on Thursday. We have no idea what the final edit looks like and the main show, Blog Cabin, will air in late September. That's the show we will most like be featured on.
New Land Available with Big Views

We buy good land - in fact, I'm always on the look out for land that meets our quality and pricing tests.

I purchased this beauty with big views just a couple weeks ago, as of yet, still unspoken for. Perfect piece of land to nestle a cottage right in the trees aimed at the big view.
Insurance Question #1
So, owning 3 businesses, a personal home, a shop/office, real estate, having employees and a growing fleet of trucks, life insurance, health insurance, etc..., I am inundated with ways to protect myself with various insurance policies. It's pretty fascinating all the policies I have, the total cost per year, and the ins and out of the insurance business. I actually spend so much time pricing, reading and evaluating insurance that a couple of times a month a situation arises and I wonder to myself - 'What policy covers that?' My go to insurance knowledge person is many times Eric Goldstein, of Misner Insurance. So, last night I was bored and was watching a show on PBS about snow leopards in the Himalayas, and no sooner did I sit and start watching than this big snow leopard ran across the big screen, actually scaring me it was so big - just so happens Jake the dog, who is now 95 lbs, was in the room to and took off after the cat. Question - does homeowner's insurance cover a dog attacking a big screen television? Or, what if Lucas pulled down the television accidentally, a scenario that seems increasingly likely. Answer - No, homeowner's insurance does not cover such a situation. Good to know, don't you think?
